I saw an artcle yesterday about iPad adoption rates in retail, specifically moving into roles in grocery stores. One expert said …

“The point-of-sale IT climate is really not easily able to factor in iPads running over web services networks, but they better get ready, and quickly. iPad is coming to a store near you like a speeding freight train.”
Why? Simple answer – it’s not that iPad is cool or hip (even though it is). It’s not that it represents an inexpensive alternative to exeisting POS systems, though it really is. It’s the touch interface; far better than any technology out there. I suspect the same reasoning is being applied to the medical sector.
